Great addition to the neighborhood! This location is a lot easier to get to than any of the other ones in any of those hip, trendy, crowded neighborhoods that's hard to find parking. It's also very spacious that you'll be able to find a seat even when there's a rush. The meat here is perhaps one of the best meat I've had on tacos, although I do wish there was an option for spicy hot sauce.
House taco is what they are known for, it includes a piece of grilled pineapple and melted cheese on top. The menu has maybe about 5 items on it, you can choose the protein on each item. There's a cactus option if you're vegetarian.
Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:) -

This place was good in the beginning when I came a year ago. But they have new workers since then, so the food has change. Currently eating a chicken quesadilla that I loved but today was pretty salty, I didn't change or add anything. I was hungry so I order two but I only ate one which is rare for me.
They have several locations so I been to them all, the one that I still like is in Capital Hill.

Overall, Taco Chukis was okay and it did it's job to curb my hunger, but to be honest, I'm not sure I would come back anytime soon. I can definitely find better street tacos elsewhere but Taco Chukis is convenient if you're in the Beacon Hill area.
I tried the quesadilla, pork and beef tacos. To be honest, the quesadilla wasn't particularly special and they didn't offer any regular hot sauce, without paying extra for it. Food wise, the tacos were a bit spicier than I personally liked it because it was drenched with salsa, unfortunately masking the meat. Overall, the tacos were still flavorful but the ingredient proportions could have been better balanced.
The customer service and general atmosphere wasn't particularly special, as well, in my opinion. The employees were more indifferent and not overly welcoming.
Here's a small example: The ice machine ran out and when I asked for ice because the machine was broken, the guy sent me back to the broken ice machine and dismissed me. When I tried to explain again that it was broken, he mumbled something (almost like I was bothering him), and pushed me back to the broken machine again. He started talking to the customer behind me to take their order, so I walked back confused to my table. About 5-10 minutes later, he finally came out with a bucket of ice but by that time.
Ultimately, I would have been fine with no ice if it was better communicated by the staff in a way that didn't make me feel like they didn't care. -

After hearing good things about this place we decided to try this place out and see what's so unique about their tacos. Their menu is quite limited compared to other places. They main have tacos, tortas, mulitas burritos and quesadillas, that's pretty much it. We decided to get the house tacos that only came with the meat choice of adobada (spicy pork, not really spicy at all). It came out slathered with salsa pieces of pineapple. The melted cheese really made the taco even more filling. Along with that we got a quesadilla with adobada which to our disappointment was just a larger folded form of the house tacos with all the same ingredients.
Unlike most taco places there aren't any hot sauce or salsa bar. If you want extra salsa that would be at an extra cost. Their salsa isn't spicy at all so if you like it spicy, you're out of luck.
The place is tucked away in the corner of the building kind of out of sight from the main road and parking is all on the street which wasn't much.
If you want to try unique adobada tacos I would give this place a shot. Everything else you can find at other taco places and probably cheaper. -

I've been wanting to try this place out as there aren't many al pastor taco places in the area. You order up at the counter first and then take a seat. It was really busy when we came and there isn't a lot of seating so take that into consideration.
Came here with some friends and I ordered the taco chuki, adobada and carne taco as well as a mulita. The taco chuki was good, but as I LOVE traditional al pastor tacos, I wasn't a fan of the cheese... it made it feel heavy. The tacos did have a nice kick to them that I really liked. The adobada was my favorite and the carne was good, but nothing outstanding. The mulita was basically a mini quesadilla which I did like. I do wish they had at least chips and salsa as an offering, but they don't.
I'd come back again for the adobada tacos when I'm craving al pastor, but I wasn't wow'd by this place. It's worth checking it out if you are in the area.
